Ultimate Outdoor Living Space Crafted in West Newbury, MA

As part of a complete backyard renovation, our clients in West Newbury wanted to transform their existing patio into a larger, more functional outdoor living space.  The Down East team began by installing a two-tiered Techo-Bloc retaining wall to allow for the expansion of the patio.  For access to and from the lower yard, the lower retaining wall includes a built-in granite staircase, while another free-standing staircase leads to the top of the second retaining wall.  At the top of both retaining walls sits a 600 square foot paver patio complete with a custom natural gas fire pit with remote control start.  A seating wall borders the outside edge of the patio, along with a custom counter-height peninsula with built-in natural gas grill and granite counter top, allowing for ample seating and functionality when entertaining guests.  Both entrances from the patio to the home include one granite stair topped with a granite landing.  Lastly, for an added touch of elegance, LED hardscape lighting was included to illuminate the peninsula and seating wall.
